The collections in this project are international in scope with an emphasis on American filmmaking during the "Golden Age" of Hollywood (1910 - 1950). The stills fall into two categories: those images which document the production and exhibition of a film and those classified as large format glamour photos taken by the more famous studio photographers like George Hurrell, Clarence Sinclair Bull, Eugene Richee, and Ruth Harriet Louise. Unlike production stills, these were taken in the photographers portrait gallery, away from the set of a film.
